Anyone who thinks that they are going to be fast around a race course by drifting every turn has a lot to learn. Drifting is not what you want to do if you want to be fast around an autocross course. When your tires break loose it means you are not getting traction and it means you are going SLOWER. That having been said, I think its a great 'recreational' activity to do with a car. Its fun to get sideways and it actually takes a good bit of skill to keep the drift steady and recover from it without losing it. Drifting can teach you about car control and what to do when your car gets squirrely around a race course. Just picked up this as my new autocross/drift car. :)
